Our team with many years of experience will help you obtain state support to cover the costs of transporting the deceased. We will prepare the necessary documents, provide consultation on procedures, and offer advice. - Amount of support. Support for the transportation of the deceased is equal to the actual costs of transportation of the deceased to the Republic of Lithuania; however, it may not exceed 54 basic social benefits units (3996 EUR).
- Income requirement. The person organizing the repatriation shall be entitled to a repatriation allowance if, at the moment of application and making the decision, the monthly income of the above person does not exceed three state-supported income amounts (699 euros).
- Insurance condition. Support may be granted if the deceased was not insured or if the insurance policy does not cover repatriation as an insured event.
- Application deadline. The person who organized the transportation must apply to the municipal administration according to the deceased’s last declared place of residence (or last known place of residence if undeclared) within 12 months from the date the entitlement to support arose.
At the same time, you can apply for a funeral allowance of 592 EUR.
Mandatory documents for applying for state support:
- identity card or the passport of the person entitled to receive support;
- application for transportation support;
- Medical death certificate (in cases where a child is stillborn – a medical perinatal death certificate), if the person’s death has not been registered in the Population Register of the Republic of Lithuania;
- when applying for support for the transportation of the deceased - documents proving the incurred costs of transportation of the deceased to the Republic of Lithuania, as well as documents on income received by cohabitants or one resident, if information cannot be obtained from state registers and departmental registers and state information systems;
- certificates of income received by the applicant and his / her family members during the previous 3 months.
